Heterosuggestion

It is important we challenge and become aware of the true intention of heterosuggestion. Do not blindly accept any suggestion allowing it to pass through the conscious mind to be imprinted in the subconscious. Once the blueprint is formed in the subconscious mind it has no choice but to act on the suggestion bringing it into the physical world of circumstance and environment.

Joseph Murphy in his book The Power Of The Subconscious Mind states; “You will find that many of the suggestions people make, whether they know it or not, are aimed at making you think, feel, and act as they want you to, in ways that are to their advantage, even if they are destructive to you.”

Dollars & Sense

It is a common misconception these days that we need big shiny $15,000.00 machines to get in shape. By appealing to ego and the cultural meme that bigger, more expensive is better, the fitness industry has succeeded in brainwashing many of us into this erroneous belief. We hear comments like; “I joined this new gym. You should see the fantastic machines. They have all the newest and best machines available.” Or; “My gym is updating their equipment and you should see the new equipment they are bringing in. It is the best available on the market today.”

But is it necessary?

I have a client who took years off training to raise her family. Now that she is turning 40 she feels the need to get back into shape. She said that now that she has looked after everyone else it was time to look after her. I pointed out that part of looking after others involves taking care of you first and asked her why she felt she couldn’t have done some form of training all those years. Her answer; “I didn’t have time to go to the gym.” It never even dawned on her she could stay in shape training at home.

It’s not that these machines do not have a place and purpose, they do but they certainly are not necessary to get into peak physical condition.

You may be surprised at what can be accomplished with just your body weight, a good pair of running shoes and a hill. Through a properly designed program using these few components it is amazing the progress that can be realized in short order.

Another option is to set up a functional home gym. It is possible to design a fully functional home gym for under $3,000.00 that will last a life time. The advantages of a home gym are numerous. A few of the benefits are, but not limited too; zero travel time, train at your convenience, no waiting for equipment, no intimidation or having someone else’s sweat all over the equipment, listen to your music or no music, use your own shower and the list goes on.

The point is don’t be fooled as the large phalanx of fitness enthusiasts are, into thinking it is necessary to continually renew contracts and use all the latest and greatest equipment to get in shape or excel at your sport. If the big gyms are your thing that’s fine, you can get in great shape there and perhaps you need the social aspect of it to motivate you. But I contend that anyone can achieve their fitness goals just as well and rapidly without the gleam and glitter of the machines.

Patience

Patience and impatience are LEARNED behaviors and therefore may be strengthened or eliminated by proper or improper use of the mind. We may see these as two separate behaviors when in fact they are ONE, just as heat and cold are one thing not two. They represent temperature. If we are cold and wish to rid ourselves of cold we focus on heat by taking action toward heat by building a fire or turning up the thermostat. Gradually the cold is overtaken as we focus on heat. We are aware of cold but this is not where our focus is concentrated and the more intense our focus on heat the faster cold is removed.

So it is with patience. To improve patience we do not work with impatience trying to eliminate it for attention goes where energy flows. We must choose thoughts which support patience. These new thoughts when allowed to filter into the subconscious mind will in time become our new blueprint of patience. Our new behavior.

Impatience is born from a poverty consciousness where there is fear of lack and limitation. We feel a need to rush to get things for fear we may miss out or someone else will benefit before us. Our society has convinced us we needed everything yesterday before it is gone. Some feel they are getting too old and time is running out leading to frustration and anxiety. I remember hearing a comment: “If I try this I will be 65 before I see anything coming back.” And how old will you be if you don’t try?

Impatience exists only on the competitive plane. The feelings of anxiety, frustration and hopelessness serve to delay, restrict or completely cut off any good that may be coming to us. By our impatience we remain bound to past and present circumstance receiving more of the same. Some success may be realized dependant on how closely we adhere to the universal law of receiving, our preparedness, whether knowingly or unknowingly.

"We can only rise, conquer, and achieve by lifting up our thoughts. We can only remain weak, abject, and miserable by refusing to lift our thoughts." - James Allen

Those who are able to raise their thoughts above the PHALANX of competitive thinking minds to the creative plane will experience a calmness knowing all things are coming to them in their perfect time, or something better. They realize they need only remain focused, with faith and gratitude on their worthy ideal prepared to act as opportunity presents itself. In this patient awareness there is no stress for all is perfect for it’s time. There is no restriction of prosperity available. There is an understanding that there is no lack or limitation of anything and if something becomes depleted more will be made or something better will be created to take its place. All will be realized to the extent they are prepared to receive.

To overcome impatience work with thoughts of patience in all things knowing that through lifting our thoughts a new awareness is created. With this new awareness it will be possible to extinguish all impatient behaviors.

True Love

Had a very interesting email conversation with a friend the other day about what love is. I seemed to hit a nerve when I suggested true love is not an emotion but a state of being. The immediate response was; “How can you say that?” “We’ll talk!”

I explained True Love is accepting things and people as they are in the moment without judgment or expectation.

In response I received the full blown Wikipedia definition of love which is totally based on the physical human definition dealing with emotion and feeling.

Feelings and emotions are born out of love but they are not love in and of its self. Yes love is all of these things yet is none of them. For emotions; feelings can change with the seasons where as True Love remains the same forever, is never changing. True Love does not play favorites. It gives equally to all and expects nothing in return. True Love is in a constant state of giving according to what we are able to receive. True Love is a principle, the root cause of all that is good.

Love cannot be seen, heard nor grasped. It just is, always has been, and always will be.
God is Love.

Challenge yourself this week, meditating on this word Love. Get beyond the surface of emotion and feelings to discover what True Love is and how you may raise your thoughts, thereby your quality of life through this new awareness.

Quality Back Training

For some quality back development is the hardest to attain of all body parts. One possible reason for this is that visually your back is out of sight. Back is not like arms, chest, legs or shoulders which are visually easy to see and constructively critique. We may even go days without even so much as a glance at our back. No wonder for many it lags behind in development. Here are two proven techniques which will literally blow your back out of its quiescent state into new growth and quality development seemingly overnight.

Technique #1: Visualize – For those who find their back lagging behind properly assimilating visualization into their back training will work wonders for you.

Beginning the night before your workout mentally visualize yourself as you go through the back exercises your will perform. Step outside your body, become the witness and watch as you execute each one in perfect form. See and feel the muscles stretching and contracting as they go through each motion. Visualize the development you are seeking, envision your back as you wish it to be. It is important that this phase of #1 be done just before drifting off to sleep when your conscious and subconscious mind are most receptive. In effect you are mentally programming yourself for the perfect back workout.

Now it is time to train. Before executing each exercise close your eyes, step outside your body and visualize yourself as you physically begin the exercise. Do not stop this visualization until the exercise has been completed. It is important to see and feel each muscle of the back stretch and contract as it moves through the entire range of the motion. This may seem like a lot of work but it really isn’t and will not add any more time to your workout. It will take a little practice at first but in short order you can master this technique and be well on your way to reaping the awesome rewards.

Technique #2: Two Count Contraction – This technique by itself will bring great results but when combined with the above technique back development goes through the roof.

Slow all your back training exercises down so that they become smooth continuous movements, no ballistics here. Feel the stretch and hold the contractions for a good two count as you work through a full range of motion. Really squeeze your back muscles as hard as you can for 1001 ---- 1002. It is important to focus solely on back. Forget about your grip. Use wrist straps if you need to. Your hands and arms just become hooks as you do all the work with your back. Reduce the weight if necessary. Perfect form is essential.

Combine these two techniques over the next six weeks and watch the metamorphosis your back experiences.

Believe ---- Persist ---- Achieve

It's Time to Change Those Genes!

An interesting read by Kelley Herring that I thought you might find interesting. Enjoy and discuss!

It's Time to Change Those Genes!

In a recent ETR article, I introduced you to the burgeoning new field of nutrigenomics - the use of your personal genetic information to create a tailor-made diet that can thwart the diseases you're most prone to. But once you have this critical information in hand, wouldn't it be nice to simply repair those damaged genes? New research suggests you can!

Dr. Dean Ornish and colleagues conducted a study on 30 men with low-risk prostate cancer who decided against "conventional" medical treatment. The men underwent three months of major lifestyle changes, including eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes; 30 minutes of moderate daily exercise; and 30 minutes of daily stress management.

After three months, the men had lost weight, lowered blood pressure, and were enjoying other health benefits. But what astounded researchers were the profound changes in their before and after biopsies. In only 90 days, there were changes in about 500 of the men's genes - including 453 that were turned off and 48 that were turned on. The activity of disease-preventing genes had increased while the number of disease-promoting genes had shut off.

"In just three months, I can change hundreds of my genes simply by changing what I eat and how I live? That's pretty exciting," says Ornish. "The implications of our study are not limited to men with prostate cancer."

So whenever you hear someone offer up yesterday's excuse of "Oh, there's nothing I can do about that - it's just my genes," smile and suggest they change them.

[Ed. Note: It's easy to say "It's just my genes" and resign yourself to poor health. But it can be almost as easy to make a few simple changes to your diet and lifestyle - and live a longer life, free of pain and medical bills. Start feeling better and getting healthier right here. It's a lot easier to get healthy when your "health food" tastes good. Get delicious and healthy recipes at Kelley Herring's website, HealingGourmet.com.]

Questions

If I am not my body,
If I am not my name,
If I am not things I have accumulated,
If I am not the diplomas and degrees I have amassed,

Then;

Who am I?
What is my purpose?
Where am I going?
How do I get there?

To answer these questions your search must begin inside of you. Only there, will you find the answers you seek. And only you can answer them. Self discovery is a fascinating life long journey. Every time we explore inside we meet someone new. But sometimes you need a guide. Premier Blueprints was established as a tool to help those at any point in their journey for self-discovery.

What you see is what you get when it comes to kids

I am very grateful for our youth, our younger population who have limitless opportunity available to them.

I am not sure how I would like to approach this topic so I guess I will just begin writing. One disadvantage today’s youth has is the negative slant put on them through the media. As usual the media finds it necessary to focus on, report and exaggerate the negative aspect of our youth. This negative slant makes it difficult for our youth to focus on anything good about themselves when they are continually faced with a barrage of what’s wrong with them, which of course will only lead to more of the same. We become or gravitate toward what we spend most of our time thinking about.

This reminds me of an incident back when my kids were just entering their teenage years. They were actually afraid of becoming teenagers. They thought as soon as they hit the teenage years they would become bad people all because of what they heard through the media. No wonder we have problems with some of our youth. This however has not been my experience with our younger population and I have dealt with quite a few teenagers and young adults. I have found them to be a very positive force. The kids who come through my studio are bright intelligent kids with goals, as are the ones who associate with my kids.

Recently I attended a black belt promotional evening. The majority of recipients were between 13 and 25 years of age. Three of the young adults received the promotion to Renshi. To attain the title of Renshi is no small feat. You must be at least 4th degree black belt, have been teaching for a number of years, and consistently contributed to your art above and beyond what is expected of you. Speaking of what is expected, as with anything we get what we expect or are looking for.

If in general you believe kids are bad or dysfunctional then guess what you will find? Expect the best from kids, treat them with the respect they deserve and they will respond with their best. Our kids are awesome and need to be told often in a way that will encourage them and give them hope for their future for they are the next creators of our universe.

Realizing Potential through Drop Sets

Once a client has developed sufficient strength and muscular endurance through compound foundational training I like to introduce a program which includes a few drop sets.

Most of us when we begin progressive resistance training for the first time and even some, who have been training for a long time, have a preconceived idea of their capabilities that is generally way below what they are capable of. I have witnessed people squatting with 135lbs when they could have squat 315lbs the day they walked in the door. Their true potential is RECONDITE (see what I did there?) by a preconceived idea of their ability that has kept them working far below what they are capable of and limiting their progress. In their mind they are working hard. This is particularly true of leg training, which is grueling when done properly. This is where the drop set becomes a great tool.

A drop set is when you perform an exercise for a required number of repetitions and then drop a predetermined amount of weight off the bar and immediately continue the exercise until positive failure in good form. Drop sets become even more effective when using continuous tension after the drop; but that is for another post.

So often I have seen a trainee, when first introduced to drop sets, load up the bar with the usual weight they would perform 8 reps with and easily push out 15 or more before positive failure in good form at which time a percentage of weight is dropped off the bar and they continue to rep out 15 to 20 more. At the conclusion of the set I always hear; “I had no idea I could do that many reps with that much weight. Obviously I am training far below what I am capable of.” My reward is seeing the smile on their face and the excitement in the brightness of their eyes, knowing their progress is going to triple over the next while. The benefits of this experience do not stop at the gym door, but this too is for another post.

On your next scheduled program update include a few exercises utilizing drop sets and be ready for some amazing results.

If you are not well versed in the use of drop sets it is advisable to seek out a professional trainer who understands the proper use of drop sets and when to use them.

Ride the Wave

The life force within us is our Power of Intention. It is our guiding light not to be resisted but energy to be steered and cooperated with, DRIVING us to our desires. It is our job to be aware of the circumstances presented to us and not resist them but work within them, CREATING our purpose. Resistance will always bring counter resistance resulting in conflict and an unhealthy environment opening ourselves to all kinds of stress related diseases. We must maintain a constant vigil for the perfect opportunity provided through circumstance which will move us toward our goals yet be yielding to change, trusting that our Power of Intention knows the best way for us.

If you have ever had opportunity to observe the surfer you watched him surveying the sea as the waves constantly rolled in. He searches for the perfect wave that will give him the ride of his life. Once he has made his choice he is fully committed to his wave. He selects the perfect position within the wave and begins his ride. He doesn’t try to control the wave for that would be folly and end in disaster. No the master surfer takes the opportunities the wave presents him and works within those circumstances directing his ride to a thrilling successful end. His successful completion depends on his cooperation with the wave. If he resists or goes against the laws of the wave he will surely meet a counter resistance creating conflict and ultimately crash risking injury.

As the surfer selects and totally commits to his wave focusing all energies upon a successful completion he reads and conforms to the circumstances provided within the wave and by his thoughts and actions he creates his successful journey. So must we select our goal, commit focusing all our energies toward a successful completion maintaining a flexible attitude toward the necessary circumstances presented for our desired end.

Responsibility

It is important that we do all we can each day to move us toward our intentions. This includes accepting and taking care of all we are responsible for that day, not just working at the things we enjoy.

Yes when we shirk responsibility it creates more work for everyone, including ourselves but it goes much deeper than that. It actually IMPEDES our progress toward realizing our desires by creating a negative flow of energy toward us.

Accepting and completing our responsibilities creates an environment of positive energy, knowing we have done a good job advancing life for all who are associated. There is absence of FRICTION when we accept and complete our duties on time. This is of benefit to everyone for friction can only lead to “dis ease” and distress, breaking down relationships, lowering the immune system and creating a negative environment that reduces the quality of life not just for those immediately affected but also those whom we associate with later because of the negative energy we exude.

Just as we cannot plant seeds of thistles or ragweed and expect to harvest beautiful roses we cannot plant seeds of irresponsibility, laziness or disrespect and expect to HARVEST prosperity, health, honesty and trust.

Accepting and completing our responsibilities on time is an integral part of becoming our best. It has a residual carry over into all our endeavors whether it is sports or business, parenting or life in general. It is important not only to our own self development but will play a large part in the degree of success we experience. Why would anyone allow something they have complete control over to limit their potential to succeed?

Don’t take my word for it. Study and TEST these things. Accept and complete all responsibilities with gratitude for one month and see if the quality of life you and those around you experience isn’t superior with less friction.

What’s Holding You Back?

Is there some desire you‘ve always had but were afraid to explore?

Perhaps you thought the timing or environment wasn’t just right. Maybe you believe you don’t have the skills to match your desire and are afraid of failing. Each of us was given many talents and gifts that come to us as desires. We are never given a desire if the potential to develop it is not within us. We must however BELIEVE in ourselves and initialize those first steps toward our worthy ideal in faith before the doors are opened to us. It is amazing the sequence of results and steady flow of help that comes to us once we have made that initial decision.

Commit today to pursue your desires and watch the miracle unfold before you as you act upon all that is presented to you.

Let Go

If we are to realize our intentions in a stress free environment it is necessary to let go, relax, and let God act.

Those who operate in the ego dominated PHYSICAL PLANE are continually striving to get ahead. They work hard, reacting to and operating in their outside environment trying to manipulate and scheme to make things happen. Most are caught in a perpetual state of want. “If I get this I will be happy.” “If I can attain this level I’ll be set.” They are always striving for that elusive state of contentment. But it never comes. Ego can NEVER be satisfied.

When we operate in the SPIRITUAL PLANE there is contentment no matter the situation. There is a realization all we desire is coming to us in its time or, something better. As long as we hold our intention in mind with emotion and gratitude it is certain to manifest to the degree we are prepared to receive it. The right people and situations are presented to us as we respond to the lead of the DEVINE MIND within us. Our world is created from the inside out. If things are seemingly delayed there is a realization that there is more to be learned, more growth to be experienced and all things are revealed in their perfect time. Our job is to recognize and seek guidance from the Intelligence within us and act upon the opportunities as they are presented. There is no stress, no striving for more, no need of want. Happiness, joy and contentment come from within. They are a choice, a state of being no matter the circumstance and environment.

If this sounds too good to be true, it’s not. This world of creation is within all of us and equally accessible to all. But we need to have faith, let go of ego domination. We need to learn to trust the Source of Devine Operation, that part of God our Creator that resides in each of us.
