If Only...
If only each individual understood we cannot own anything. Gods’ wealth circulates and there is always a Divine surplus.
If only each individual understood there really is no such thing as an individual. We are all Divinely connected, coming from and formed from the same substance.
If only we understood that how we think and behave toward another affects us all, including our self. If you condemn something in another you also condemn it in yourself. If you encourage and praise something in another you encourage and praise it in yourself.
If only there was more who understood that the subconscious mind that formed us and sustains us and also knows what is best for us. Our subconscious mind has all the answers we seek, we need only listen and heed its’ direction.
If only more would seek their true purpose, putting aside thoughts of lack and limitation from which most negative behaviors stem.
If only more of us understood our true intention is for prosperity, abundance and creatively advancing all mankind.
If only the masses could understand we are not our physical bodies and cease to identify, categorize and segregate.
If only all would challenge their circumstance and environment, responding to them according to their desires instead of reacting and allowing circumstance and environment dictate their existence.
If only ……..
Spend some time creating your own If Only list. Carry it with you for one week reading and meditating on it often. How might this change the way we think of others? Ourselves? Our circumstance?

Compound It!
So what is a compound exercise? It is an exercise which involves more than one muscle group and utilizes a range of motion through several joints. A great example would be the squat, which works practically every muscle group and moves through nearly every joint we have.
Why does this work so well? In regard to weight loss, utilizing multi joint compound exercises demands a lot of ENERGY when the program is designed and performed properly. That translates to burning up lots of calories in a short period of time. As a matter of fact studies have shown 30 to 40 minutes of progressive compound resistance training burns up calories equal to a 5K race. However it doesn’t stop there. Where as your metabolism will return to normal in a couple of hours after a 5K run this is not the case after 40 minutes of compound resistance training. Your metabolism may stay elevated for as many as 19 hours post training. Yes, even while resting. I realize that the preferred fuel while training is carbohydrate but with a properly designed nutritional program the carbohydrate that is available for energy will be used up while training leaving a good 19 hours of FAT BURNING.
Proper progressive compound resistance training places new stress loads on your body. This effect stimulates the endocrine system to produce more HGH, makes available more usable testosterone and increases IGF1. This translates into new muscle and a recipe for fat burning 24 hours per day. Keep in mind ladies; you don’t have enough testosterone to get bulky huge muscles so no fear. What you will experience is a beautifully toned and shaped physique. I will stress here once again the increase in bone mass which becomes ever so important as we grow older.
There are many advantages to incorporating progressive compound resistance training and perhaps I will discuss more, such as speed reaction time in sport, in another post. If you are not familiar with progressive compound resistance training be sure to seek out a professional trainer who is well versed in compound exercise programs and discuss your requirements with them. They will be able to advise you on how to set up an effective program ensuring your safety and results.

Seek Inside – A Letter to a Friend
To My Dearest Friend,
We need to continually be on our guard against letting the physical begin to take over and dictate our thinking, therefore our lives and results. This can only lead to chaos and frustration. I think it is great that you are getting back to some of the things which have helped you to stay on course in the past and allow the spiritual to guide you which gives peace and confidence in all situations.
It is wonderful to be able to listen to all those enlightened gurus but does little good unless we continue to seek inward for our own answers and apply their wisdom accordingly. Our truth which gives us happiness and peace in all situations comes from within us and we find it by continually challenging our belief systems to see if they align with what we know is right for us.
We must continually ask ourselves why do I believe this or that? Where did this belief come from? If it is not in harmony with the life we wish to create, the life we know is right for us then we must replace that belief with one which supports the life we wish to create.
No outside influence can give you this. Others knowledge may help to guide and direct but we must continually do our own internal work and seek our own individual truth.
"Quality questions create a quality life. Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers." - Anthony Robbins
I have attached some good questions for you to ask yourself when facing any decision. Smart questions to keep handy:
- Is there a message for me in this experience?
- What's the gift in this situation?
- What can I learn from this?
- What's the most loving thing I could do now?
- What's the most important thing for me to focus on now?
- What would I do if I knew I could not fail?
- What would I do if there were nothing to fear?
"A prudent question is one-half of wisdom." - Francis Bacon

Your Exercise Blueprint
There is a definite process to successful training and it all begins in the mind. Our blueprints for the degree of success we will experience reside in the subconscious mind. There is a blueprint for each area of your life. Financial, relationship, nutrition, fitness, all have a blueprint which has, over the years been programmed into your subconscious mind. As this entry is about your success in fitness we will focus on that.
Does your goal match your exercise blueprint? The bulk of our exercise blueprint was formed as a child by our parents, authority figures, peers and media. The three ways our blueprints are programmed into our subconscious are:
- Verbal: What did you hear about exercise, training and sports when you were young?
- Modeling: What did you see when you were young. What impressed you?
- Specific Incidents: What was your personal experience with exercise, training and sports when you were young?
It is important to examine our core beliefs to determine our present exercise blueprint and how we feel about success. If they don’t match our intentions then we have some internal work to do for whatever is PROGRAMMED on the inside will always eventually MANIFEST itself on the outside. We may realize some temporary success but just as the cybernetic device on an airplane is designed to keep the plane on course our subconscious will always bring us back to what it has been programmed to believe we should be.
There are many ways this can come about. A cold or minor injury which interrupts our training long enough that we never really get back to it or at least not for quite some time. A headache may develop just before it is time to train. We may attract some incident which in our mind takes president over training so we skip the workout. Subconsciously we don’t really enjoy training so we create a muscle spasm or ligament strain which halts our training. We accept the idea that it is because of overtraining or too much too soon. Occasionally this may be the case but far too often we are not aware that it is our subconscious creating the situation saying “hey you are not supposed to look and feel this good so we need to bring you back to familiarity.” We truly experience these circumstances in our lives. Not understanding their ORIGIN we tend to focus on our outside environment and circumstance, which only serves to give us more of the same. We need to focus INTERNALLY where all things begin and end. We need to focus on the truth, which is always for love, peace, joy, prosperity and perfect health in all things.
Now you may say this sounds like a lot of hocus-pocus but I assure you it is not. I have been in this business for over thirty years and have seen the evidence when one of my clients finally flips the switch making fitness a PRIORITY, reprogramming their fitness blueprint. Once this is done and they become aware of the excuses and situations the subconscious tries to introduce they automatically counter it with a positive thought, feeling and vision of their intention. You cannot stop their progress. They follow every direction to the tee not wanting to substitute this exercise for a lesser one or this food for that one. They get excited about and expect results and therefore they get them. They visualize the end result they desire, do their daily action steps every day and carry their affirmations with them so they can read them several times each day. As in mathematics there is a formula which when followed will give you the results you are seeking.
Are you serious about improving your fitness level or is it really just wishful thinking? I would encourage you to do some soul searching to discover what your exercise blueprint is and begin the necessary steps to align it with your intentions. Become all you are capable of and deserve to be.
I leave you with three quotes to ponder.
"Commitment means victory is the only option. Success requires focus. Focus comes from having vision and a mission, living with a purpose and pursuing worthwhile dreams and goals." - Excerpt from Leading the Consumer Rebellion
"A man’s weakness and strength, purity and impurity, are his own, and not another man’s; they are brought about by himself, and not by another; and they can only be altered by himself, never by another. His condition is also his own, and not another man’s. His sufferings and his happiness are evolved from within. As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains." - James Allen
“Having conceived of his purpose, a man should mentally mark out a straight pathway to its achievement, looking neither to the right nor the left.” - James Allen

Business Success
Prosperity and a grateful attitude go hand in hand. We cannot remain prosperous for long clothed in an attitude of ungratefulness. Now I am sure most in business do not consider themselves as ungrateful. However ungratefulness can show up in unexpected places. It is important to examine our entire true deep down thoughts covering all aspects of our business. Our list should include sales reps, employees, clients, family, goods and services, fellow competitors, even the day to day weather. It is easy to be grateful on those sunny days when employees show up on time and are responsible and cheery. It is easy to be grateful when clients are cooperative. Yes it is easy to be grateful when things are going well.
What about the customer who never seems to be satisfied? The client who always shows up 5 minutes before closing time? Are we grateful for these people? How about the competitor who would love to see us go out of business? Are we grateful for the sales rep that continually pressures us to carry things we don’t want? Does the poor weather make us complainers?
It is important to understand that when we harbor ungratefulness we are shutting off our supply of prosperity and abundance. Just as the water supply from a garden hose is reduced or completely shut off in relation to how much we kink the hose our supply of all that is good coming to us is diminished in relation to our ungratefulness.
To illustrate this point here is a personal experience. My private training studio was humming along as usual with satisfied happy clients. I noticed however there was a decline in new members. Actually I had no new members for a month. One evening as I was dropping off to sleep I posed the question as to what might be keeping new clients away to my subconscious mind. As always I received a prompt answer early, 3am, in the morning. I am not grateful for all my clients. This surprised me because I felt I was grateful for all of them. However I have learned my subconscious mind is never wrong. So with this new awareness I began to search my thoughts about my clients. I discovered that there were two clients, and even though I appreciated the opportunity to work with them I sometimes felt inconvenienced because of the inopportune times they would sometimes come to train. Could this be the reason? After all I still appreciated the opportunity. The answer came quickly. Just because you appreciate something doesn’t mean you are grateful. I thought of my internal language and behavior when I felt inconvenienced and realized the anxiety and friction it caused, (closing down my prosperity). I determined right then and there that I would immediately replace these thoughts with thoughts of gratitude and repeat a positive thankful statement at each occurrence when I would normally have felt inconvenienced. The laws that govern our universe are swift to respond when we align ourselves with them. Within two weeks of changing my response to one of gratitude I had six new clients sign up.
If we want our businesses to flourish it is important to remain always in an atmosphere of gratitude. If you feel your business is not what it should be spend some time searching your true inner thoughts about all aspects of your business. Once we become aware of an area on which we can improve the next step is to create an action plan.

A Creative Process for Positive Lasting Change
What is it that determines which thoughts we accept? If we are on auto pilot, allowing our circumstance and environment design our lives for us without challenge, we automatically permit only those thoughts which support or match our present Blue Print (belief system), located in the sub conscious mind. Our Blue Print was formed by the thoughts and perception of experiences, ours and those of others which we have accepted as truth about the different areas of our lives over the years - many of them WITHOUT question or challenge. This current belief system is responsible for the life we presently experience.
If we wish to change any area of our outside physical world, circumstance and environment, it is first necessary to CHANGE our inner world – belief about the particular area in question. Once we have replaced our belief about the area in which we wish to change we will then be able to select and accept by choice only those thoughts which support our new belief. It is not enough to superficially wish for some result or begin behaving in a certain manner. We must replace our CORE BELIEF about each particular area we wish to change otherwise it becomes a mere band aid solution and we will experience only temporary or little improvement. Our ability to do this on a consistent basis will determine how quickly we will experience the new desired results we are seeking. By this method we gain back CONTROL of our lives and can begin to direct it as we wish. We begin to think for ourselves again and challenge our thoughts to see if they will take us in the direction we wish to go. We realize that we have choice and it is the thoughts WE choose which will determine our results, circumstance and environment.
It is a fairly SIMPLE process but it is not easy. It takes discipline and a strong desire (or will) to change. You must know precisely the desired result you wish to attain. Ask yourself, does my current belief support the result I am seeking? If not then you must discard the old belief and create a new belief and support system (thought process) to bring about the desired result. This will work for ANY area of your life you wish to improve. It is ALWAYS the same process and is continually working whether we are conscious of it or not. By law it cannot fail.
Here it is, step-by-step:
- Determine in detail the area of your life you wish to improve and the result you wish to bring about.
- By asking yourself some pointed questions, discover what your current core beliefs are about this area of your life. Do they support the improvement you are seeking? If not you must change them to match the result you want.
- Having chosen your new beliefs it is necessary to build a support system through your thought choices. Become conscious of your thoughts and actively accept all thoughts which support your new beliefs and the results you are going to bring about. You must totally discard any thought immediately which does not lead you toward your goal and replace it with one that does.
- Next form four or more daily action steps, (behaviors); you will do consistently every day to reinforce your new beliefs and support system.
- Finally develop ten or more positive affirmations with reference point to strengthen the whole process.
- Repeat these affirmations as often as possible using visualization emotional content. It is imperative you follow every part of each step. If you omit anything it will retard your progress and may completely shut it off.

So what constitutes a well-developed core? (Part Two)
Proper core training includes muscular strength, muscular endurance, energy transfer and motor control. Without these four components your core is not balanced and is performing sub maximal. You are losing strength in all your daily activities as well as any sport you may participate in.
Proper core development is paramount to maximizing your potential and efficiency of motion, not just for sports but for all your daily activities. Proper core training requires that you train your core not just in a unidirectional manner but also in a multidirectional fashion such as it is used in every day living. The entire core must be trained each session, not just certain muscle groups. Synergism is all-important in core training to eliminate imbalances between the many muscle groups increasing coordination while decreasing reaction time.
So when and how should you train your core?
When depends on your level of fitness. Beginners, less than three months training, should train their core no more than once or twice per week. More advanced trainers, with up to two years of training; three to four times per week is sufficient. For the elite athlete the core may be trained every second day varying the intensity with each session.
For most of us the core should be worked using smooth continuous motions. Any speed or ballistic drills are reserved for the elite athlete only.
It is important to seek out a PROFESSIONAL TRAINER to design a core conditioning program geared to YOUR specific needs and level of fitness. Proper body alignment and execution of technique is important for your safety and continual progress. Core training on a few machines at the gym or performing some crunches and back extensions at home is NOT sufficient and may be doing more harm than good. When following a proper core program you will notice results immediately.
So how long does all this take if you have to train your entire core each time? The answer may surprise you. Your entire core can be trained effectively in TEN MINUTES. That’s right, there are no excuses. A better quality of life can be had for as little as ten minutes a day a couple of times per week. Make the decision to start today. You are worth it!!
